Am I getting old or is that the most disgusting billboard ever? I'm amazed that there hasn't been a barrage of complaints. I mean, it does look like what I think it looks like, right?!

Nick - I saw that poster first in the Vodafone shop on the High St., while asking them to unblock my phone as I wasn't aware that it had a block and suddenly it decided to demand from me the code. Stupid fucking phone. Especially seeing as the smarmy twat in the shop said 'just got to press 968' or some other random number that I've forgotten...
Anyway - this picture was all over the shop and I thought - fuck me this is brilliant - some group of guys in some advertising company are having A FUCKING LAUGH. I there and then phoned my friend (sorry - once smarmypants had unblocked my phone) - my friend who used to work in advertising, then went to Norwich to do a creative writing masters, having told me that, 'I could see myself becoming an asshole...)
Anyway, I phoned him and asked him if he knew who might be behind the ad, and he said that he didn't, but that he'd also seen the ad and was delighted that whichever team had not just proposed it (as he assured me that one sees far more riske proposals, they just never get through the selection panel), but that it had passed through all selections, had been approved by all the assessment boards, had been approved by the phone company itself, and had got out onto the high street.

But you've got to look at it this way. It's an invitation to seek the connection with an image that is not really even connoted. I mean, party popper foam thingy, so realistically captured by the video messaging that it actually appears to explode on her (shocked yet delighted) face. And I'm no expert on the archetypal money shots (honest), but the her open mouthed, eyes shut, turning away expression is SO, well, just SO... (and there's so much foam, it's THE GUSH!!!!!) THE GUSH THE GUSH THE GUSH - and we're lucky that it's still WHITE!!!!!!!

The end of the story is that somewhere in London, a group of young, overweight, overpaid and overcoked advertising executives, all met in the pub when that ad got through and drank a lot of booze and sniffed a lot of coke in celebration of their successful weeze.

And the best thing is that no-one's going to challenge them:
'Jeremy - Stan - Rupert. Mr Marshall wants to see you in his office.'
'Ah - good morning gentlemen. Are you aware that we in Nickelment Advertising take a very strict line on advertising campaigns that carry hidden messages. Well - it has been brought to my attention that your project for Video Messaging has a picture of a young lady seemingly revelling in having 25cl of sperm ejaculated over her eye...'

You just have a filthy mind. Obviously she's Tony Montana in an all-female dinner club performance of 'Scarface', right after mis-aiming her face in the pivotal 'mountain of yayo' scene.
